RanchPilot · from Greenbow Labs

Your ranch command center.

RanchPilot is ranch and livestock management software, built by a working cattle rancher in Alabama who got tired of apps that stalled. Herd records, breeding, health, grazing, inventory and money in one app, and it keeps working at the chute with no signal.

In development, early access coming.

The RanchPilot mark: R and P drawn like a cattle brand over a copper bar.

One app for the herd, the flock and the pastures.

01Working today

Already doing the daily work.

All of this runs in today’s development version, checked against a demo ranch with two years of records. RanchPilot isn’t open to other ranchers yet. When early access opens, this is where it starts.

  • Working

Records at the chute, with no signal

Weigh, treat, preg check and move cattle with zero bars. Every entry saves to the phone first and syncs on its own when you’re back in range.

  • Working

    Every species you run

Eighteen species, from cattle, bison and sheep to goats, horses, pigs, poultry and rabbits, plus a custom one. Each has its own gestation, weaning age and the right word for every stage.

  • Working

    Flocks, lots and litters

Keep a laying flock or a litter as one group: head count, deaths, daily eggs, weights, whole-group treatments and sales by the head. Pull any animal out when it earns its own record.

  • Working

    Breeding status that explains itself

Wondering why a cow is marked bred? Tap her. RanchPilot shows the breeding, exposure and preg check behind the call.

  • Working

    Withdrawal and booster reminders

Treatments carry their withdrawal dates for meat, milk and eggs, so you know who can ship. Boosters come due on their own from the first dose.

  • Working

    Inventory that counts itself down

Give a shot and the dose comes off the shelf. Record an AI breeding and the straw comes out of the tank. You see what’s left before you run short.

  • Working

Money by the hundredweight or the kilo

Sales in $/cwt or price per kg, cost per head, break-even and a plain profit and loss, in your own currency. Hands can record cattle work without seeing the books.

  • Working

    Grazing in animal-unit days

Animal-unit days, rest days and days of grazing left on every pasture, in AU or your country’s own grazing unit.

02Coming next

Where it’s headed.

This is the plan, and none of it is finished yet. Each item gets marked off on the updates page when it ships.

Bring your ranch over

  • Import from the apps you use nowComing

Bring over your herd records, history, money and pasture boundaries from the herd and grazing apps you already pay for, or from a spreadsheet, with a dry run before anything is saved.

Faster entry in the field

  • Receipt scanning with AIComing

Snap a receipt or invoice. RanchPilot straightens it, reads it, suggests the category and keeps the PDF with the expense. No more typing it in.

  • Voice notes into recordsComing

Say it in the pasture. Your note becomes a proposed record on the right animal, pasture or task, and you confirm it with a tap.

  • Photos with GPSComing

A photo timeline for every animal across its whole life, each photo stamped with where it was taken, so it lands in the right pasture even after fences move.

Your land, mapped

  • Satellite pasture maps, with grazable acres worked outComing

Draw a simple box around a pasture and RanchPilot works out what’s grazable, leaving out open water and dense woods, so stocking math runs on real grass.

  • Land parcelsComing

Pick your property parcels from public county records and use their lines as your ranch outline.

  • Rainfall for every pastureComing

Daily rainfall from NOAA’s radar-and-gauge data for each pasture in the US, with no rain gauge app needed.

  • Forage planting advisorComing

Tell it what you plan to plant. It weighs soil temperature, frost and rainfall history against current conditions to suggest the best window, cool season and warm season.

  • Hay reserve plannerComing

See how much hay to hold back in case winter grazing falls short, and how much is safe to sell.

Money and help

  • Multi-year money trends, on your fiscal yearComing

Year-end reports and five- and ten-year trends with charts, on the fiscal year your ranch actually runs on, so winter hay lands in the right year.

  • AI helperComing

Ask how to do something and get a straight answer from the RanchPilot manual, right in the app.

Plans can change as ranchers tell us what matters most. Follow along on the development updates page.

03Why it exists

Built by a rancher who needed it.

RanchPilot started on a working cattle ranch in Alabama. Its owner kept paying for ranch apps that stalled: clumsy to enter data into, no help at the chute without a signal, and records spread across apps that didn’t talk to each other.

So Greenbow Labs is building the one he wanted. He’ll run his own ranch on it for a season before anyone else does.

  • Your data is yoursExport every record any time, as CSV or JSON. No lock-in.
  • Nothing silently lostUndo keeps the history of what changed and who changed it. Retag a cow and her old tag stays on file.
  • Built in the openYou shouldn’t have to wonder whether your ranch app has been abandoned. See every update →
